A little slice of Dover

I know that I'm running horribly behind Libby, who is keeping up fairly well with our journey, but let me step back in time a little to two weeks ago when we visited Dover (of white cliffs fame).

Luckily, much of the trip was on divided highway. Remember
This was my first ever day driving on the left, steering from the right.
It was a little nerve-wracking driving on the left for the first time, especially coming out of London on a busy day. Once out of town, though, I pretty much got the hang of it. I still have to think about it when turning, and especially when starting from a parked position on the side of the road.

Dover was beautiful. It was a sunny day and the castle stood out in the distance as did the white cliffs. Here are some of the quick highlights:

Cliffs from the overlook by the lower car park.

Looking past the castle down the hill to the town.

Earthworks around the castle.

Looking from the top of the castle.

The main room you see when you enter the castle is done up to look like a working kitchen, with bread, meat, veg (all phony, but a nice illusion on film).
Simulating a working castle kitchen.

It was chilly with a strong wind, but the castle was beautiful and impressive
